The Reels case

Can you remove the AI label from an Instagram Reel?

You can remove supported embedded C2PA records from a Reel video before upload. This tool cannot change a published Reel.

If you upload a separate cover image, inspect that file too. A frame selected from the video needs no separate export.

The video and image workflows check different records. A successful result for one file does not verify the other.

Two files, one post

Check your Reel video and any separate cover image

The tool treats each as its own job, because the formats need different handling.

The Reel video

MP4, MOV or M4V
  • Select an MP4, MOV, or M4V file up to 50 MB.
  • Remove supported embedded C2PA boxes.
  • Keep the original encoded video and audio tracks.

The cover image

JPEG, PNG or WebP
  • Inspect a JPEG, PNG, or WebP cover when you upload one separately.
  • Remove supported image metadata and embedded credentials.
  • Compare the image output because encoding can change color or detail.
Quality

Why no re-encode matters for Reels

No extra video encode

The C2PA video step preserves the encoded tracks. It does not change their resolution, frame rate, or audio.

Other records remain

Video cleanup targets embedded C2PA boxes. It does not clear every field your editor stores.

File size stays similar

Replacing supported boxes does not compress the video. Use your editor if you need a smaller export.

A separate image check

The cover uses image cleanup and its quality limits. Review fine text and color in the downloaded cover.

The routine

How to remove AI Info metadata from Instagram Reels

01

Export the final Reel

Finish your video edits before inspection. Keep the export within the 50 MB tool limit.

02

Inspect the video and cover

Use Video for the clip. Use Image for any cover you plan to upload as a separate file.

03

Review each result

Check the video output and compare the cover image. Select the checked copies when you create the Reel.

If your Reel has no C2PA record or exceeds 50 MB

No embedded credential means this video step has nothing to remove. It does not establish whether your video contains AI content.

The report explains what the inspection found. Separate SynthID processing does not form part of that result.

For a video over 50 MB, prepare a smaller export in your editor. Compare quality before inspecting that new file.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How do I remove AI Info from Instagram Reels before posting?

Inspect your final Reel video, then remove supported embedded credentials. Check any separately uploaded cover with the image workflow.

This prepares the files. It does not guarantee Instagram will remove or omit a label.

Can I remove AI Info from a Reel I already posted?

This tool cannot access or change your published Reel. It works on the source file you select.

Review the available Instagram controls before deciding whether you want another upload.

Do I need to clean a cover selected from the Reel?

If you select a frame from the video, you have no separate cover file to inspect.

If you upload a JPEG, PNG, or WebP cover, inspect it separately.

Does removing C2PA reduce Reel video quality?

The supported C2PA video step does not encode tracks again. It keeps the encoded video and audio unchanged.

The separate cover image uses image cleanup, which can change color or fine detail.

What if my Reel exceeds the 50 MB limit?

Export a smaller version from your editor, then inspect that file. Lower settings can affect quality, so compare the result.

The C2PA remover does not compress videos.

Does the tool remove every AI tag from a Reel video?

It clears supported embedded C2PA boxes. It does not remove every video metadata field, visible watermark, or invisible watermark.

What happens when the tool finds no embedded credentials?

For an image, you can still choose Remove embedded metadata. For a video, no supported C2PA boxes means no cleanup output.

The result does not prove that your file contains no AI content or invisible watermark.

Will a later edit restore the removed metadata?

A later export can write new records. Inspect the final version instead of relying on an earlier cleanup result.
